Our client is a digital agency based in the heart of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne. They have an exciting vision and a strategy for growth moving forwards and in order to facilitate this are looking to bring in a key member of staff to help them further develop and implement their development plans.

This agency are taking the North East digital scene by storm and are set to become one of the major players in a very short space of time. They already have an established team of designers and developers in place, and have an existing and enviable client list. They are building a great reputation for the quality of their work and customer service, and are constantly working to build on their reputation as a great employer, service provider and business.

The vacancy they’re currently looking to fill is an integral role within the business. The hope for this role is that the person recruited now will eventually become Sales Director with the potential to become a Board Director with share options. Consequently, the ideal candidate for this role will need to be self motivated, driven and have a real entrepreneurial spirit about them.

We’re ideally looking for someone who is currently working in a Business Development or Sales role within a similar environment. Not necessarily in a digital agency but ideally in a creative sector agency.

You will need to have a proven track record of new business and pitch wins. We’re looking for someone who can expand on existing clients as well as bring in new opportunities and leads so we need someone who is a great relationship builder as well as a great networker. The ideal candidate will be someone who has an existing network of contacts and a healthy interest in the business world.

There is a good deal of strategic thinking required here so someone who is overflowing with ideas of how to expand the agency’s client base would be a welcome applicant. We want someone who is not only keen to expand the agency’s turnover but is also keen to build a sales team so ideally some man management experience would be required although this isn’t essential.

Initially we’re looking for someone who can manage their own clients, however longer term, our client will be looking to bring someone in to handle this side of things. As there is already someone else in the business who handles cold calling and lead generation, we’re ideally looking for someone to take a more senior role within the sales team. That said, even if you’re in the early years of your career and can demonstrate the track record and personality to fill this role, then you will be considered for interview.

It’s a very exciting time to join this agency. The digital industry is growing despite the recession and this agency intends to be at the forefront in the North East and on a more nationwide scale.

Regarding remuneration package, the client is completely open to a discussion and wants to work together with the candidate to put together an attractive and achievable offer including basic salary and commission with achievable targets enabling the candidate to earn whatever they want to earn.
