North East iPad fund to help creative industries
February 2, 2010 in News Roundup
Regional screen agency Northern Film and Media has launched an investment fund to help local companies to cash in on Apple’s newest gadget.
Funding is available from between £1,000 and £10,000 to help develop iPad ideas from “sketches to the finished product”.
The £40,000 fund aims to help creative businesses to learn more about the product that is expected to be a global hit.
NFM chief executive Tom Harvey said: “We will do whatever it takes to ensure that North East companies have every opportunity to get their products developed, made, distributed and bought on whatever new platforms come along.”
In order to apply, the apps must have potential to generate revenue and be developed by teams that have at least 70% of the team’s talent based in the North East as well as 50% of the budget spent in the region.
Application deadline is 24 February.
