A Newcastle-based website is due to launch next month to help keep track of the local music scene.

Currently on its beta testing stage, Total Gigs is looking to cater for a number of different needs related to live music space.

The free-of-charge site promises to not only help track and find upcoming gigs but also re-live the gig experience.

In addition to a comprehensive listing of gigs and venues, Total Gigs will also harness multimedia content from different websites to help users get the best information in deciding where to go and who to see.

Integration with social media sites will be used to enable users to upload their photos from the events. Total Gigs is also looking to introduce a free-of-charge system to allow venues to create their own websites.

The launch of the site will coincide with the Evolution Festival in Newcastle in May.
