Description:

We are pleased to be working with an award winning multi-platform creative media company in Newcastle upon Tyne to help them source 2 passionate and talented PHP Web Application Developers, who thrive on quality, to architect and implement high performance systems for scalable web applications and mobile devices.

Reporting to the Web & Interactive Manager some of your responsibilities will include:

Development of web applications using efficient and manageable code, primarily in OO PHP5, and MySQL Server databases.

Working as part of a team to improve and develop tools and techniques.

Testing software and writing comprehensive documentation for the resulting applications.

Requirements:

At least 3 years professional web development experience, and SDLC, in a commercial production environment.

2+ years experience with large-scale systems is highly preferred.

Significant experience of object-orientated programming, with recent PHP 5.0 experience.

Extensive knowledge of MySQL and relational database design.

Demonstrable experience with, and extensive knowledge of, Web 2.0 related technologies including, but not restricted to, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, and CSS.

Exposure to design patterns like MVC.

Professional experience with at least one PHP framework and experience of web- application architecture.

Knowledge and expertise in software engineering methodologies and effective unit testing.

Experience using a version control system such as CVS or SVN.

Ability to collect and document user specification.

High level of technical creativity and the ability to apply innovative solutions to business problems.
