Job Title: Senior Server Application and Network Infrastructure Developer with Team leading and Project Management experience

Job description:

A multi-touch platform written in C++ and Flash/Flex is the foundation of their solution; this is responsible for the client side interactions.

You will need to work alongside the development team to expand this platform to include a number of services over the internet as well as build and maintain the required infrastructure, including remote application deployment, electronic point of sale integration, processing transactions, remote administration etc.

We are looking for someone who has done something more than normal CMS/web/accountancy server applications

Required Skills:

Open source server technologies
Networking at the protocol level
Programming in an appropriate language to write server infrastructure code (e.g. Python, Java/Tomcat, …)Server administration/optimisation skills
Basic web UI interface development (for simple interfaces to internal administrative server functions)
Software architecture design, writing detailed specifications, testing.
Managing and co-ordinating teams of developers
Liaising with other teams and clients, determining their requirements.
Effective communication

Key responsibilities:

Provide technology insights and creative ideas to solve problems.
Help design, code and test the platform and its API.
Provide high level documentation.
Being an integral part of designing the architecture of the platform.
Provide detailed documentation and comprehensive technical specifications.
System analysis and design
Help to manage development (including platform and UI developer teams) and coordinate the different aspects of the project
Assist in interviewing and hiring junior developers

Requirements:

Ability to quickly learn appropriate new technologies
Ability to work independently
Ability to effectively communicate with the team and manage development.
Must be able to set and meet realistic deadlines.
Project management
System architecture and engineering experience.
Knowledge of accepted software development methodologies.
