Simon Oxley is a British designer/illustrator and the man behind the original Twitter bird.

Growing up in Berkshire, near Newbury, Oxley moved from home at the age of 17 to study graphic design at The Bournemouth and Poole College of Art. He is currently living in Japan, where he’s running his design company called idokungfoo.

Oxley’s work has been said to feature a strong Japanese influence with a touch of refreshing humor. In addition to designing the web’s most famous bird, Oxley has also contributed poster designs towards the ‘Coke 120yr anniversary’. He is a regular designer for iStockphoto, a royalty free photo stock.
