Lawyers from Microsoft and Apple have been engaged in linguistic jousting this week over ownership of the term ‘App Store’, which the latter are claiming is theirs exclusively. Where each companies’ respective legal teams have failed to win, both Microsoft and Apple hope that the hiring of professional linguists will be able to swing victory their way.

The five-year legal battle to block the .xxx suffice for all websites featuring pornographic content looks set to end as the Obama administration has raised no new objections, therefore ‘green lighting’ the move. The development comes after much original opposition from the Republican Bush administration.
