Discount Thinking Digital tickets back on sale today – grab yours quickly!

Tickets for the North East’s flagship digital event go back on sale today.

At noon, the organisers will release 50 tickets at a discounted rate of £290 + VAT.

One of the top digital events in the country, Thinking Digital, welcomes leading minds from the sector to The Sage, Gateshead, at the end of May.

Just last week, 20 new speakers were announced including Richard Banks, Interaction Designer at Microsoft Research and author of The Future of Looking Back; Jennifer Gardy, Canada’s answer to Brian Cox and Jonathan Forster, a Geordie abroad in Stockholm amd also European GM of Spotify.

First speakers announced for DIBI 2012 as early bird tickets go on sale

Leading web design and programming conference Design It, Build It (DIBI) has released its early bird tickets along with an announcement of three keynote speakers.

Cameron Moll, founder of Autentic Jobs, will headline the conference which takes place on 16-17 April 2012 at the Sage Gateshead.

Moll will be joined by Chris Mills from software company Opera and Kyle Bragger, the founder of Forrst – an online community for passionate developers and designers.

North East digital music conference a buzzing success

The Music Futures conference celebrated a successful debut after a full day of lively debates between industry experts.

Focusing on applying innovation into practice for music businesses, the event attracted over 150 attendees across the UK.

“We’re so pleased with everything”, Damian Baetens, Generator’s business development director, said after the day.

“The feedback’s been great. We’ll obviously talk to everyone and do an evaluation afterwards but I just know it’s been a success.”

A new North East digital music conference will give regional businesses access to some of the top minds in the industry.

The Music Futures conference, organised by the Generator, takes place at a time when the music industry is coping with constant change and challenges posed by the digital age.

But the challenges and ‘threats’ can also be an opportunity, says Damian Baetens, Generator’s business development director.

Digital innovations have broken the traditional gatekeeper role of record labels, enabling artists to go straight to the consumer.

“Now there’s an independent and direct route to market and online media is becoming a major factor of influence”, Damian said.

“Blogs are the new tastemakers, labels and brands see them as the touchstone.”

WIRED set to create the next big tech event

The top technology magazine WIRED is launching a new conference which it hopes to make an annual celebration of innovation.

Boasting an impressive list of speakers across the globe, ‘WIRED 2011 Together with O2‘ is set to cover topics from business and nanotechnology to pop culture and data-mining.

The price tag for the two-day event is £1495, but the organisers are confident the high expectations will be met.

“WIRED 2011 is the significant culmination of a series of thought-provoking and talked-about events the magazine has hosted since launch”, Rupert Turnbull, publisher of WIRED, said.

Sunderland selected to host top web conference

ddd_conferenceSunderland has been announced as the host city for the North’s first Developer Developer Developer (DDD) conference.

The free DDD North event will take place at the University of Sunderland on Saturday October 8, aiming to offer the best in technical education and networking opportunities for the local and national .NET community.

As is traditional with DDD events, the conference has a community-led agenda with sessions and speakers selected by the attendees themselves.
