vote_matchMore than 300,000 people have turned to the Vote Match website to help them figure out which party is the best match for their values.

Vote Match features a set of statements that users simply click through either disagreeing or agreeing to them. They then get matched based on how their answers compare with the parties’ answers to the same questions.

Lib Dems' website ranks top on usability

A survey of political websites hails the Liberal Democrats’ site as the most user-friendly, the Guardian reports.

The Political Usability Report, carried out by user experience consultancy Webcredible, focused on the user-friendliness of the websites of 10 parties that hold seats in the House of Commons.

Lib Dems snatched the top spot with a respectful 80 out of 100 points while Tories’ scored 67 points placing them second.

Parties tweeting their way to Downing Street

En garde – the digital swords are out

Inspired by Obama’s troops in the US election, UK parties have been busy organising their digital media activities – with varying success.

The Conservatives took a head start after the last election with their campaign sites, including David Cameron’s successful video diary, WebCameron. The Media Week reported that, up until recently, the Tories’ lead has been so substantial that the party has been hailed as an online pioneer in the April issue of Wired.
