Publishing giant prepares to go on the iPad

GQ_feb_2010Condé Nast is reported to be making iPad versions on some of its top titles.

According to a Brand Republic article, Apple’s newest gadget would feature digital versions of GQ, Wired, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and Glamour magazines.

A test version of the technology magazine Wired is already been published but the first magazine to be available on the iPad will be men’s magazine GQ in April.

New e-book platform to set the bar high?

ebook (1)The world’s largest book distributor is releasing a new e-book platform called ‘Blio’ in January.

According to an article in The Independent, Barker & Taylor – who distribute 1 million books a year – has committed to making 180,000 titles available via the platform.

Developed in partnership with technologic futurist Ray Kurzweil, CEO of Kurzweil Technologies, Blio is expected to be the next big thing in the e-reader industry.
