Dedicated Google Map puts North East tech scene in limelight – make sure you’re not missing

The North East creative sector now has a dedicated Google Map collating all the essential information about the vibrant industry for tech journalists and potential investors.

The map, created by local digital innovator Paul Lancaster, is building on the success of the PostOffice, a city centre venue that has been buzzing with events ever since it was established last June.

According to Paul, the events reflect the very talented pool of freelance and self-employed developers and creatives.

“At the grass-roots level, most of the activity organised by attendees of User Groups like @PHPNE, @rubynortheast and @DesignInterest falls under the radar of established support organisations and media”, he said.

London's innovations mashed up

Born in Denmark, Lars has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Aarhus, an MSc in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD in Theoretical Computer Science from the University of California at Berkley.
