Jobs in social media set to boom as employers focus on digital

Social media is a ‘business priority’ for a quarter of UK companies in 2011, generating employment possibilities for social-media-savvy people, according to a new report.
The report shows that 71% of UK businesses are aiming to improve their social media presence in the coming year, while 25% are putting it at or near the top of their ‘things to do’ list.
Despite the fact the UK lags behind the US in this area, (only half of businesses use social media in the UK compared with 90% in the US), the report predicts a boom in the demand for social media skills, with thousands of short term vacancies set to become available.
