New website showcases rich history of Fish Quay business hub

North East digital company Armadillo is working on a campaign to promote the North Shields Fish Quay business hub.

With support from North Tyneside Council, Armadillo is delivering a range of digital and offline media to highlight the historic Quay both as an area for tourism and as a desirable business location.

A new website, launched in December, celebrates the rich history of the Fish Quay boasting a variety of media such as original and archive photography, video clips, stories, property downloads and desktop calendars.

North East experts come together to create first-of-its-kind training website

The newly launched e-Quality Learning is the UK’s first website that provides comprehensive one-to-one training for individuals with disabilities.

The site was built by Gateshead-based digital specialist AYO Media for Newcastle-based training provider e-Quality Learning.

Their high-level model of training that better supports the requirements of disabled trainees has been developed in partnership with the Centre for Design and Research at Northumbria University.

The new website delivers online training of assistive software to individuals, employees and carers, and allows them to revisit their own recorded sessions in accessible multimedia format.

Local developers to reinvent Gateshead College site

Gateshead College has turned to local talent in its large scale website revamp.

The college has chosen Tyneside-based digital specialist AYO Media to redevelop its corporate website and integrate the new site into its internal network.

As an organisation with a large amount of information to manage, Gateshead College requires its online information to be constantly updated and dynamic.

It was AYO Media’s expertise in handling complex systems and dealing with large amounts of data that won the contract for them.

Small businesses not taking advantage of web

smallbusinessMore than half of businesses with fewer than 50 employees do not have a website, a new survey has revealed.

What is more shocking perhaps is that almost 6 in 10 of these businesses do not believe they need to have one.

Creative software developer Serif asked 400 sole traders and small businesses, discovering that 81% of them prefer to buy from companies with websites.

The benefits for the companies with websites were clear with 41% of business leads generated online.
